Daft question if I may please , how do u rate the full width lightbars , the ones that have the combined spot / flood combination plse
Saw a curved one on here that fitted in the front grill but alas can’t find it
Or is it always better to fit the smaller spot / flood lights over the longer lightbars
Many thks as always
Chose my set up for a couple of reasons, mainly breakage, but also options, outer two are spot/flood combo & inner 2 more for distance - just gives control over what kind of light I need depending on topography etcPaul.

When I had the FL2, I fitted powerful spotlights (wired to main beam) and suffered from dazzling 'bounce back' from road signs.
So much so, I had to dip my lights until I passed the signs.
Do you get this with the Lazers?...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Agree this a major problem with the power of the Lazers. Forget using auto dim on the D4 as the reflection off road signs fools the sensor into thinking another car is approaching! It is forever switching on and off!!! 😂

Hiya
Many thks and when explained makes sense, another thing is the mounting of the lights , if I’ll fit them inbetween the grill or behind it
Seen some narrow lights that could possibly fit, have also seen a lot of self made brackets on here
Thks again

people do still want to kit LR out, but places to travel safely on an adventure are getting less and less IMO and the new breed of LR are too expensive to look at kitting out (just IMO of course)
im hoping to fit grill LED spots, side awning, rear ladder, rear work light(s) and more purposeful tyres but as I don't want a full roof rack, I plan to fit extended roof rails with 2 sets of roof bars (2 to mount the awning onto along with a rear light and 2 to mount bike racks/roof box/ jerry can holders to)
im wanting to plan a couple of weeks trip around Scotland next year and quick breaks away etc. so will want the awning and extra fuel cans for that.2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

Mounting brackets
Hi all,
I have been reading these topics and been searching on the forum. Maybe I am not using the right terms, sorry.
I would like to try my luck in this thread.
I have a nudge bar (VUB501230 winch type) and I have LR original Spotlights (VUB502850 (seem to be US set) heritage, so unable to return or sell).
I want to mount the spotlight inside the A-bar/nudge bar. But I dont have the mounting plates/brackets to do so.
If I look at XQB500080, in the pictures online you can see the plates to attach to the nudge bar and you can mount the lamps on.
Does anyone know if these plates can be bought seperately? I have been searching for almost two weeks now, and now it is time to ask the Disco3 crowd.
See attachement for reference (edited)
I hope you have some ideas/solutions. Looking forward to your replies.
Kind regards,
Dennis

I looked into this a lot and eventually went for Lazer Triple R 750 Elite (Gen 2). They have a great light output on E-Boost.
For mountings there were a few options:
Lazer Lamps grill mounting. Did not opt for this one as thought the weight of the lamps would make the grill and hence lamps shake on bad roads.
OEM Plus mounting kit from Germany. Wanted this kit but communicating with them was difficult and did not want to order the whole kit (including lamps) from them to the UK as it might get stopped in Customs.
Pro Speed mounting kit. This normally mounts the lamps infront of the grill but I used this kit and modified it to mount the lamps in the grill. They are sturdily mounted to the frame behind the grill and don't shake.
There is also a lot of talk about how to do the wiring. Like connecting to the OBD2 port or using a Can Reader etc. On my Discovery 4 HSE with Adaptive Headlights Bi Xenon I used the black blue wire in the centre connector block in the side of the drivers footwell to trigger the relays for the Lamps. I also put the switch on the edge of the main light switch panel.
