I can’t believe I’m now approaching the 2nd MOT during ownership. Time has flown.
I have learned so much along the way. One point is that a OBD code reader is a must
I’m now preparing the Disco for the MOT in 4 months time, as there’s a couple of things I need to sort. I’ve ordered new rear Discs/pads/shoes/fitting kit and sensors. Handbrake started to squeal, so I pulled the fuse to stop and issues with the handbrake. So it should be just a swap over for new parts, put the handbrake fuse back in and a adjustment.
The other plan this summer is to get under it and tidy some rear surface rust out by the spare wheel. Rather sort it now while it’s an easy job and get it looking pretty under there.
I’ve recently replaced the front discs/pads and sensor, along with an engine oil/filter change and a fresh air filter.Defender 110 2.4 TDCi Utility Station Wagon.

don't know how bad yours is after 14 years, but my first 55 plate D3 had chassis rust on it at the back end after only 6 months old! Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

It’s brilliant underneath to be fair. It’s just the spare wheel boot floor area has started to turn scabby in little patches, so it should just be a quick rub down, paint some rust converter and then spray some fresh silver paint over it. I’m genuinely chuffed with how good condition the underside is.Defender 110 2.4 TDCi Utility Station Wagon.
