Front Fogs - not working

When my D3 was in for MOT back in August the rear fogs were not working ( It was the relay and once fitted work fine )

In order to get it through MOT the mechanic did something so that the front fogs did not work, but the rears did. MOT pass Thumbs Up

When the relay was fitted he (the mechanic) said only 2 min job to reset the fronts. I didn't check that they worked. Rolling Eyes Now I have come to use them, they don't.

Any clue as to how he might have done the original fix ( fronts out and rears working )

Euhh, why not call that MOT station?

seems the quickest and most reliable option to me tbh

If only it was as simple as calling them Rolling Eyes Already tried that - mechanic not working there anymore and they want 2 weeks to 'book it in'

Check the relay for the front fogs is actually in place. Its relay No'5 in the BJB (top right istr)
Also the fuse for that circuit which is in the CJB fuse no 38 I think!

He would have taken the relay out the front fogs, and put it in the rear position. The duff one might be in the front fogs now.

Actually come to think of it that relay was never fitted, so the problem is elsewhere. Might be the loom behind the bumper shorting on the body as it has been known to do.

Front loom on mine rubbed through, do not think it blew fuse, just repaired wiring and away it went again.

nether the front or rear fogs have relays !!! Laughing (except USA/NAS cars)

I would check the 2 fuses behind the glovebox.

Do the dash fog icons come on ?

The only way it would pass the MOT is if they were not connected and you could argue they were just for show.

Have you made sure the bulbs are good?

Believe front fogs are only an MoT fail if fitted to vehicles first used since March 2018. ( At least one rear has been required since 1980)
