In contrast:

I had a whole new turbo unit fitted to my D4, at a total cost of over £4K. I was given a brand new Evoque as a courtesy car and it was all a painless procedure. No paperwork, pre inspections or payment whatsoever.
LRA diagnosed the initial problem and even booked me into the nearest dealer who was able to do the job ASAP.

All done under the LR Extended Warranty.

Thumbs Up

If it’s under 3 months from purchase, you should have been protected by the sale of goods act (or whatever it’s called now) - fault was underlying.

I would be presenting them with the final bill or claiming action.

I'd go along with that. Just because the dealer can't get the warranty company to agree to pay for the repair, it doesn't necessarily mean it's not still their problem.

Only issue is dealer we bought it from is 300 miles away in Scorrier......not Kent where we live....

Like your thinking though! Very Happy

Theoretically that shouldn’t make a difference. It was an approved used vehicle.

Hi Farmer Chalk

Forget about any warranty. The best thing about this country is Police do not need routinely carry guns. The second best thing is that Courts arbitrate on vehicle problems not dealers. Clear your mind of any warranty details/expectations and focus on your consumer law. Your purchase needs to be fit for purpose.
Water entering the cabin is wrong. It’s no matter how/why/when it gets there on a vehicle of this value.
Not your problem.
It is the problem of whoever took your money and appears at the top of your invoice. Warranties are nice but ultimately they do not trump the law.
Definitely get advise from a solicitor – it will cost maybe £70/80 for an intial meeting.
Or use the small claims court on line.
Rant over.
Final piece of advise – let the company at the top of your invoice know what you propose just before you do it as it does focus their mind awfully……

Thanks Kev,
You are right and I was head in the clouds thinking that JLR would do the right thing...

Currently contacted JLR for their final responses and that will definately focus my next move....
Outraged from Kent!

I think you’ll find you have bought the car from the dealer and not Landrover, so the sale of goods act applies to them, not Landrover.
Contact the dealer directly with your issues
Regards
Steve

I have initially to make them aware of the potential issues....they also highlighted that if I am wanting to reject the car that I need to inform the finance house....which spookily enough is Land Rover Finance!

I await to hear from JLR before making any decision....but as every day goes on my resolve is hardening...
And my love for Land Rover is dissipating at speed....

This is clearly a manufacturing fault.... the screen is the original as fitted by the factory....the complete top seal has failed and I can run my hands between the screen and the roof frame from the inside of the car...

I now have moisture behind the dials and have taped it up as best I can but to save the car from further damage I need to get it repaired or rejected...

Autoglass have refused to touch it and have directed me straight back to Land Rover!

Currently the owner of four Land Rovers but unless this is resolved soon I absolutely will shop elsewhere and soon....loyalty is fickle if one’s partner cares not......

Keep you all posted...

Can’t tell you how disappointed I am at the whole sorry saga....probably time for a reality check...

Quick update on my sorry saga...
Land Rover Customer services agreed that this scenario was unacceptable and in fairness to them quickly chased the dealer to arrange for the screen to be refitted...
The dealer also removed the carpets to dry them out thoroughly....it is the original screen so it appears they managed to extract it without breaking it...

Good job all round...
Apparently and note to all.... that the factory appears to have a problem whereby a number of vehicles are suffering with the Windscreen primer which is faulty...it’s starting to become apparent... particularly with D5’s....

Check your carpets chaps! Very Happy Very Happy

As a footnote LRCS were excellent once they got involved....sad that the issue was not dealt with at the first opportunity however.... Sad

If i remember correctly, my 2015. D4 was checked on a TSB for windscreen not being correctly installed at factory, they had a batch that didn’t seal along the top.
