EGR failure?

Hi All

Occassionally when pulling away the car just wanders on, very little accelaration at all.

Its normally fine. I used my simple diagnostic plug in when the light comes on occassionally (not on all the time) and it did say P0489 Exhaust Gas Recirculation Control Circuit A Low

You reckon this is the EGR valve failing or electrical connections to it?

They are probably sticking open, I had a similar problem, which eventually thru up a EGR fault code. I took them off and gave them a good clean, especially the shaft and rollers. All is well again now.

Technicaly yes the will effect the MOT but it's only a visual inspection and if you put the pipes back over the banking plates they will never know. The EGR valves will not effect the emissions for the test.
