Diagnostic ODBII butchery advice.....
Hey folks, FBH is not working, wanted to get it working as it bugs me that it’s not.
Had codes:
Auxilary Heater
B1D29-93 (2E) No start, even after restart attempt - Component failure - no operation
B1D34-68 (2F) Heater in lock out mode - Algorithm based failure - event information
Cleared and tried again, much smoke, no poke
Second try normally get something like this
I have an old ODBII lead left over from BMW ownership, was wondering if I can use it to diagnose the FBH???
Wired up like this??

Cheers, I have read that whole article, what I am wonder is, is the circuitry in my lead any different to those on the website. I can make up the other wires as needed.
Essentially I don’t want to spend £40 unnecessarily if I have an ODBII lead here that’s the same.

Can't really tell from the photos if it is definitely a K line type adapter (the type you need) and the web site on the label is long gone.
Looks likely though as pins 7 and 8 are bridged which suggests it supports K line.
Worth a try
Worst case if you can make the rest of the loom is a new USB adapter: https://www.disco3.co.uk/shop/usb-to-obd2-...s-p91.html06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!
