No, no teeth in that wood - I like your route though on your video - where were you going from/to roughly? Am thinking of fitting a RAI as the water gets deeper on the plains - have you fitted one?

I think we started at the north west and followed the western edge before going across to Bulford and back again. It was a while ago!

A while after that video my RRS got a RAI. It's not a snorkel but even though it isn't watertight, it's got to be easier for air to be drawn in than water (famous last words). Fording a river with a slight current coming from the driver's side (towards the standard vent) had made me nervous not to try it. Floating and/or getting electronic things wet is my worry.

Aha! Consider yourself 'spotted'!

Our group shrunk at lunch-time when the driver of a FFRR (or his wife) wasn't happy with how dirty it was getting.

There are some busy exercises on at the moment, also there are some TROs around Tilshead area, particularly around the area of the german village.

You should check the firing schedule.

The stone roads, that someone referred to, are often permissive byeways that run alongside or near actual byeways (an example is the White Horse way around the top that goes past the German Paratrooper memorial) BUT not all of them are BOATs and ever open to the public. Check your mapping carefully.

There is a good group on facebook covering the area run by a local guy called Paul Carter. It is an excellent resource for information.

Thanks for the tip about Paul Carter.

It was the "Combat Power" demo at the German Village last week. Lots of bangs, Apaches and a Typhoon (according to the intranet at work). It was very churned-up and muddy around there.
