When I did that side I couldn't see the drain plug from the outside - it is way out of view and can only be felt by putting your arm up and feeling inside the inner wing. It is just about reachable but not viewable. The D4 has a side vent in the wing that can be removed to see it, but not the D3.
I had to get at it from the inside by removing the glove box, then the central junction fusebox. You can then see the drain plug from the inside. Be warned it's a fiddly job and the CJB is a right pain to get out and worse to get in. You'll need to remove some of the larger fuses to squeeze it out. Theres three (from memory) electrical connectors on the rear and two underneath you'll need to remove.

did you check the seal between the bottom of the windscreen and the cowling? I wasted hours on the sunroof drains only to find that a 1mm gap between the seal/screen allowed the Atlantic ocean to pour straight down the pollen filter. Easy fix - replace (and seal) cowling and/or make a plastic hood to deflect rain away from the filter intake.'

Thanks Brian.
The pollen filter was dry when I checked.
Is the join you mention the top edge of the cowling that’s on top of the screen?
Or one lower down?formerly Disco3Ben

yep that's the one, you have to take the wipers off to remove it. The rubber edge on my old one had gone quite hard and wasn't sealing anymore. I sealed the new one on when I replaced it and made a cover for the filter intake (i.e. recycled a Tango bottle) just to be double sure.'

Huge thanks to @DIYACE for the advice today.
Managed to take most of the front passenger side interior apart to get access to the drain tube.
Access meaning removing the fuse board hidden behind the lower glove box!
Eventually got to the end of the drain tube and pulled it back into the car, out of the wing.
It was full of crap which explains why the water backed up

Hopefully now, with everything back together, it will stop filling with water when it rains!!
Think I will clear out the drivers side tube as the access is much easier 👍formerly Disco3Ben
