Belts second time

Hello all
I did the timing belts on my 08 TDV6 in 2014 with 64k on the clock and they looked like new when removed. I also did the oil pump and belt rollers. I am now thinking when should they be done again ? It's been 5 years and 46k miles since the last change.

Thanks
Rich

How long to you expect to keep the car in both years & mileage terms?

Probably keep it for another few years to at least 150k, unless I will the lottery!

Thumbs Up Very wise.

My view would be to do the belts, and fit another new oil pump, at a date & mileage with which you are happy in the reasonably near future. Thi is on the basis that you are having to do the work at some time in your continued ownership, and that you might as well have the majority of the advantage of this expenditure whilst you own the car.

In my opinion, if you do it yourself (as you have) the cost is negligible compared to a failure so why not. How long did it take you?

I always find if I enjoy the challenge and the job satisfaction, the time spent is well worth it. I’ve put hundreds of hours into my Ford Jeep over the last 4 years but I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. Even when doing something a second time when I’ve not been happy with the initial results.
