Not that different from the Tarr Steps crossing of the river Barle near Dulverton on Exemoor:-
It's a public road but I've seen 4x4s in trouble here when the river is high.
It's a doddle when the river is at a normal level:-

The Tarr steps pics bring back memories, crossed many a time in the past but only when it was like the second picture.
