Disco 4 Steering wheel electrics dead

Hi guys. Need some help to diagnose a problem with a disco 4 I bought recently. Bought it as a non runner. had a fire under L/H front wheel arch and basically it had taken out 3 wiring looms. Engine bay loom, chassis loom that runs down the passenger side and across the back axle to the fuel tank, and also the engine loom. Engine loom changed for a brand new one. Engine bay loom changed for a second hand loom. Exactly the same number, and it came with the fuse box on it, so absolutely complete and in good condition. Chassis loom was used but again it was pretty good. I'm not an electrician but I've changed all the looms systematically and once fitted pressed the button and the car started first time. I've got lots of warnings as i expected i would after a pretty major refit, and with electrical fires you never know what'sensors got messed up.
A number of errors that i've got are pointing to the steering wheel and steering sensor. There's a warning on the dash to tell me that the paddles are disconnected. Nothing on the wheel works. Radio, horn controls etc are all dead. I also get a lot of DTC's on the reader relating to the steering sensor as it's not feeding anything to the various modules that need it's input, so I'm thinking that there's a connection somewhere on the column that's not plugged in.
When I bought the car it was owned by a guy who had done most of the work and died, which is how i came to buy it. He had messed with the column slightly as he had to remove the steering lock to be able to move the car. With the electrics burnt out i suppose it was the only way. Steering lock refitted and plugged in and all okay now. Don't know if he could have disconnected anything else but i can't see anything.
So my questions are.
Is there anything that is common to all controls on the wheel including the steering sensor.
How does the actual wheel make it's electrical connection to the rest of the car?
There is a module up above the pedals on the Right hand side. is this the control module for the steering wheel and paddles etc. I've plugged in all connectors but maybe it got blown when the electrics burnt out.
Any assistance would be useful.
Thanks
Oz

Steering wheel electrical connections are made via the clockspring, it's positioned immediately behind the steering wheel.
Steering angle sensor is a little lower down the column but not sure if that relates.
Suspect there's no power at all to the steering column as that might be the only thing to investigate so could possibly be just a fuse.

Checked what appears to be the correct fuse which was fuse 51 in the fuse box behind the glove compartment but fuse good. Don't know if there are any others that might be suspect or even a relay. The fuse box in the glove compartment is the same one that was in the car when it had the fire so it could be something in that assembly that is at fault. The main fuse box in the engine bay came with the loom so unlikely I think. I'll have another look around the fuse box behind the glove box just in case.
Thanks for your comment. Really appreciated

Checked all fuses that have anything to do with the wheel, and all okay. Does anyone have a wiring diagram so I can check if there is power in the loom that goes to the steering column as this appears to come from the Suspension module down near the pedals and links to steering sensor and all controls on column.

If you changed the Central Junction Box (CJB) and you are seeing an error code B1009-62, you will probably need to re-program the CJB to your car..

Thanks for assistance. I assume central junction box is the one in the back of the glove compartment. If so i haven't changed it. Still original fitted. Got hold of a wiring diagram and going through it now. From the items that aren't working I'm suspecting it's a relay that appears to be activated by the Body control module. This subsequently gives power to the steering sensor. Steering sensor looks like a pretty simple circuit. power ground and 2 can wires. Maybe Body control module has been damaged internally when the loom burnt out. I'll keep hunting until I find it. Does anyone know if Body control module is part of the main fuse board at the back of the glove compartment or can it be changed independently

The BCM is part of the CJB and is coded to match the engine ECU, Dials and KVM.

Found the problem with the wheel being dead. Clock spring completely broken internally. new part fitted and all ok on the wheel. Now working through other issues.
