I have the same issue 🙈
Failed MOT inner sill. Took off the factory side step which I think has been on there from new, and the back end is scary very big hole can fit my fist in. Going in Monday to see what the welder can do. Landybandy you are local to me what was the fabrication company you used and do they do the sill kits you mentioned in another thread? Or did that never materialise. I'm to afraid to take off the other side🙄. Maybe it is best to weld on some heavy duty steel Rocksliders as others have mentioned. I will post some pictures of the horror later 😬

Mine is going for its mot on monday.
Ive just dscovered the sill corroded as you look at it from underneath , near the rear arch. Small hole.
I doubt it will pass tbh , but fingers crossed theynwont go poking.
It needs repairing, but could really do with the truck.back.on the.road, its costing me money being off the road. Im self employed.
Been doing lots.of other jobs this week, rear hub, front suspension arms. Nearly killed me, and i go and find this issue too late!
May the mot gods be favourable to me! 2008 Discovery 3 xs 2.7 TDV6
