What leg is 40mm higher? I’m assuming he means the air strut as it looks bent but he could mean chassis leg. If that’s the case then I could see it being £18,000 to repair. If not I wonder how much they want for salvage?

Hi M3bobby,
It's the chassis leg. I think this photo is the killer
As far as the buy back cost is concerned I'm surprised nobody has shown interest given the engine is sweet on 121k miles. I don't have the facilities to break her, but if someone else does, I'm happy to go into battle for them.
Got a friend who bought a cheap 55 plate D3 HSE about a year ago. Turns out he's scrapping his - engine problems have been diagnosed - not the usual turned bearings though - seems it's got hydraulic issues (water in the engine). He's looking for £380.

Stick or Twist?
Good evening all,
Regarding my previous thread:
https://disco3.co.uk/forum/think-im-lose-friend-183727.html
I've had a call from Copart. She's a goner - total loss.
They've initially offered £6290
As per the title- what do the Cognoscenti think I should do?
Accept the first (IMHO very generous) offer or argue for more.
Best regards,
David

Personally, I would push for more. What have you got to lose? They can only say no.
If you can't get any more or from elsewhere, then you can always settle on the first offer.Kev

Sorry Martin,
Thought it was better in a separate thread
Ken, I'm with you but, all of the people I've spoken no so far reckon I'd be a greedy t**t to go for more. Especially given the depreciating market for these vehicles.
Hence the question.
