Dual battery monitor
May be of interest to someone
Got another app for my iPad so can read both batteries
For some reason one of the sensors isn’t working that I got ages ago, so ordered another one from a uk supplier
Will take some more pics when I’ve set it up properly
Can monitor up to 4 x batteries , using ur iPad or iPhone can monitor them indoors via Bluetooth, range is around 40 x feet
App costs £9.99 and Monitor boxes are around £26 each

Connected one in the boots side locker into my 12s socket wiring
Other one will be connected directly to my aux battery
Got these instead of the CTEK battery monitor, as these are cheaper
Hope that’s helps and will of course update the thread when I fit the new monitor on the aux battery and sync it with the new app to ensure it all works properly

Ur very welcome
Mine should be with me Monday , I’ll end up cutting the open crimp terminals off like I did before and fitting O crimps along with some heatshrink
Wish to also find out when I’m charging the main battery if indeed the aux battery also charges at the same time though the T max split charge relay
Have got a CTEK charger but Next step will be sorting out solar on the roof, so it can keep them topped up when not in use or when I start doing camping etc again
Got short rails but need to get some cross rails, but thinking of a cunning plan, lol
Have some twin wall roofing sheet rails , so toying with the idea of using them to go across as there strong enough to fix the solar panel too and at least I’ll know there ok in the rain etc
Yeh i know , need to get out more

This is similar to what I’ve got , but in brown , in the event there not strong enough to span across the rail I’ll get some flat stainless steel metal to fix underneath
Solar panel wise it’s a choice of a flexible solar panel fixed to a twin wall roofing sheet or a framed solar panel
think a 40-50 watt panel should suffice , thks to all the previous great help have the type of controller and how it’s all going to be wired up sorted , just the fixing and type now

The app gives trip information . Does the monitor have some sort of tracker too or does that require another device to work with the app?
ThanksGary

Hi
From what I can see that the software has gps, but indeed would req the iPad or iPhone to be inside the vehicle so can track ur journey
So doesn’t work like a normal gps where that needs a special tracker device installed , this basically tracks u via where ever ur phone or iPad goes that’s inside the motor
Just took a screen shot at the location is around 100 feet off
Hope that helps

Looks a pretty good tool though my altox does monitor main battery levels but would be useful for aux. I take it you would fuse this as connecting cheaper end electronics across the battery would concern me slightly?D4 HSE Lux MY16 Club Waitomo

Hi
The battery monitor is fitted via the 12s fuse box in the boot , when the other battery monitor turns up I’ll indeed put an inline fuse onto that as an extra precaution
Just wondering what size fuse to install, it uses 1ma

I’ve had three of them now for about a year, monitoring the D4 starter, D4 aux and camper trailer batteries. So far no issues. I didn’t fit a fuse to any of them, the cables are short and small gauge, if a short was to happen the cables would fail open circuit fairly quickly, just like a fuse.MY14 TDV6

Will fuse it for that belts and braces , seeing I’ve got the split charge system at least if I do everything I can to ensure the what IF scenario
