Airbag fault after clock-spring replacement
I changed out the clock spring on the Disco because one of the cruise buttons had an issue. Now the cruise button works fine, but I have a red airbag warning instead!! If I reset faults with IID the light goes out for a second but then comes back on again.
The car was very much asleep (battery disconnected for at least 12 hours) when I made the changes, and my tester indicates that all of the connections are good between both sides of the spring. There was no airbag warning beforehand.
IID reports...
B0001-1A (AF) Drivers frontal stage 1 - deployment control
- General electrical failure
- circuit resistance below threshold
At 254584 km
Triggered on 08-02-2020 06:03:16
Please can somebody point me in the right direction? Could I have inadvertently disconnected anything under the drivers seat when I was fitting the GVIF at about the same time?

Must be something wrong with the wiring thru the spring to airbag.
I assume you haven’t changed the airbag
when you have it on the bench the 2 wires are shorted together with gold contacts on end.
Unless you wedge something in the end contacts to stop them, both will buzz thru ok with a meter when only one is good

ISTR that the new squab/spring was the issue, I'd bought a generic one as replacement. When I ordered a proper LR one everything was fine. I suppose it's one of those parts that is worth forking out for, as the cheap replacements just don't cut the mustard.'
