Is the standalone reverse camera the same as the surround cam?

You should be able to fit an overlay harness. Any ideas how long you need?

There is a wing mirror wire on eBay (cam connector to male) which will work (if it’s the same as surround cam) but it’s only about 60cm long so you need the extra length loom (male to female) or as I did, spliced in a length.

Steve - I'm just after sourcing the correct loom from a breaker, this was only possible because you were able to give me the engineering number associated with the part number I had. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

The wiring looms appear to only have the engineering number on them so having the part number is of no use to positively identify them.

So your original camera part number could be superseded to a new part ending in AG and this will work. If your replacing the camera with new, even with a like for like, you will get a DTC for camera calibration. It should still work and you can ignore it as for calibration you need SDD or similar.

M3bobby - thank you very much - very appreciated the explanation.

Silly question on SDD to calibrate camera. Obviously this can't be done IID tool, can it?

SDD is not freely available obviously even if one would have Mongoose OBDII USB adapter.

No, unfortunately IID tool cant do a camera cal.

I got my SDD off ebay, he wanted £50 but he's open to offers. Its not a copy, it's genuine with live updates etc which can be a pain as it updates......a lot!

Hi did you ever manage to locate a loom? I’ve got the camera complete with boot camera. But need the newer 8 pin plug tailgate loom. I bought one from LR for around £80 and a camera but it’s the wrong ones for my vehicle (2014). I’ve also thought about making an overlay loom out of my original tailgate wiring but need pics etc of the wiring looms and the plug end. Thanks in advance.

SteveNorman - thank you very much for all the info provided - really appreciated, your willingness to share helpful knowledge is unseen elsewhere - thank you again! Unsure, how I missed to say thank you earlier! Came across this as was trying to find old threads if anything exists on my new searches.

M3bobby - your help is invaluable, thank you again for all the help!
