whatever number you decide on you need to think about the investment lag you will have on it. Think about the cars owned by most owners on this site. Apart from that next job (or 2) to do on the car they are well up to date with maintenance, and will have had oil changes at double the schedule. If you buy a car from a “non-enthusiast” you’ll be chasing that condition for a couple of years.

It’s likely I’ll do max 4K a year in it anyway
In my experience, I think you'll have more issues from doing so few miles..
I'm a firm believed that if you use it, it will continue to work (obviously there is a limit)
I think a good example are coil and leaf springs, you'll find that a vehicle that goes over a lot of bumps/ country roads etc will survive longer than an urban car that's been cruising 2 miles a day around town..
One day both cars will hit a bump in the road.. the urban one will likely be brittle and break, the other has well used supply flexible springs and will survive..
My D4 had ~140,000 miles, has had all the usual 'common' issues (compressor, manifolds, door latches) but still runs like a dream and sits at 28-29 MPG during general use. Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black

Good man.. Enjoy it 👍
I'm on 183k and it's running the best it ever has... Starts first time and smooth as silk.... Regular oil changes is a must.. I give it two a year and only do a few thousand winter miles.
