Experiences with ventilated brake discs eg. TerraFirma?

I've just bought a Disco4 and the brake discs are well worn. As I've read on the forum and in general that the disco 3/4 eats brake pads and discs because of its weight, I was wondering if it is better to replace them with ventilated/grooved discs like TerraFirma's with matching performance or even ceramic brake pads?

I imagine perhaps both better stopping power and also longer lasting? Your experiences with this brand or other brands? Thank you!

From the landy.co.uk forum I was also directed here, to look at greenstuff pads with ebc discs. What is the difference between yellowstuff and greenstuff? Is their yellowstuf similar to the yellow pads of TerraFirma?

Difference between their turbogrooved and ultimax discs please? Thank you!

Don't believe all you read about the Discovery.
They do not get thro' discs and pads because they are a heavy car. There is only one reason why people seem to have a new set at every service, and that is thro' standing on them at every opportunity and bad driving habit.
Many on the forum manage many miles without issues. Proper servicing is key. The systems in principle are used on other cars, and are not complicated. Home servicing is wholly possible, and at least yearly clean up/adjustment of rear shoes is paramount.
Front disc/pads require same (without adjusting..) incl. Guide pins.

It is a heavy car, but not a sports car. Brakes are fit for purpose and will wear out like anything else if abused.

The Brake guide produced by Bodsy is an ideal reference to get an idea.

my indie specialist recommended to stay with the original lr discs, turns out those special discs (perforated, grooved) are not authorized in belgium and will be rejected in the annual technical control; so i'll have the 4 discs replaced by land rover original, including pads; even though not bought through lr dealer but indie specialist, i got a quote of 750 euro excl 21% vat and excl mounting :p

LR originals discs and pads are installed, as has the brake fluid been replaced

seems to be just fine now, also no more wobble when braking (the lower carrier arms having already been replaced last year by the previous owner)
