Danhag GSM controller + HVAC module |
|
Hi Guys.
Here is a group buy sign up for the Danhag GSM controller for the Disco3/RRS FBH + the modul to control the HVAC(opening the cabin vents and sterting the blowers)
Retail price is 399 Euros.
Group buy price, if we get 20 orders, is 355 Euros.
If we reach 30 orders they will include a GSM aerial.
The kit should be available in 2 weeks.
The kit is not completely plug and play, but is not complicated and should take about 1 hour to install

Yes, subject to some details as regards installation (noting not quite plug and play) and operation. Sounds very good though, just in time for the cold weather. TDV6 HSE Lux (2014MY)

Hopefully the GSM product has improved recently -- I got one roughly about a month ago, and it was supposed to talk "w-bus" i.e. the bus protocol that the D3 Webasto heater understands, so that can control the heater.
The one I got unfortunately was not able to steer FBH in model year 2006 D3, whereas Webasto's oval timer 1533 connected to the same control pin on the heater triggered it all right. There thus was something wrong with the GSM box in terms of compatibility.

Mine works without problems. Had to configure it with an SMS though with parameter 30=3 to turn W-bus on. You might have an old heater that works on +12v if w-bus doesnt work, otherwise problem with box (get replacement). Oval timer may also be sending +12V instead of W-bus. There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

Hi,
spoke yesterday to Danhag's boss and we will get the install instructions by next week. As soon as I have it, I'll post it here. As far as I know or understand the biggest challenge is to put the HVAC out in order to get to the connector on the back. And that shouldn't be a problem.
The second good news, it works
Regards
Gerd

Same here - very interested dependent on fitting etc.
Has it been confirmed that this still allows the FBH to function normally without being 'told' to turn on by the GSM unit?

Neil
The 2010 cars have a different protocol for the heater compared to the D3. When I tested Danhag on my D4 it didn't work which is why I worked out what was needed for the factory option on the 2010s

Registered, depending on just what's involved with the fitting.
