Insuring a modified discovery - Face-lifted specifically |
|
Just wondering how you all have found your insurance prices differed for example Face-lift to 2014 and how much it effects your price of insuring, also what other mods have inflated your policy
Cheers Andy

I haven't modified my D4.
I declared every modification on the D3, wheels etc.. The only increase in premium was for the remap, where the premium was increased by the % increase in BHP. 10% more BHP = 10% increase in premium.

When I had a remap on my old D3, I told the insurance company that as I towed, I needed the extra torque that the remap gives me.
They didn't charge me any extra on my policy. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

I told my insurers that I'd got an Alive Tuning remap and there was no additional charge. To be honest, a remap to a D3 still doesn't give it as much power as a 3.0L D4! I believe the D3 with remap is around 220BHP whereas the D4 is 240BHP. 2007 Disco3 2.7 tdv6 SE
gvif with reversing camera
V8 brakes with new EPB module and shoes
Later D4 grille
Alive tuning remap
Mazda MX5
Ferguson ted20 tractor

Thanks guys... Interesting that nobody has come forward and commented regarding insurance hike after Face-lift.... So I assume insurance hasn't been informed

D4 256 bhp to be precise along with the best brakes on any vehicle I’ve driven, standard D3 brakes are poor in comparison, Brembo and D4 upgrade on the D3 still do not compare to a D4s It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
