GAP IID MOUNTING POSITION
Can you use the GAP IID BT to put the discovery 3 when working on the handbrake shoes into a mounTing position to make it easier to get the rear shoes on and off, JEFF=BONES1.

thanks, but where do you go,what section and what do you click on. on the gap iid bt tool.when you have done the brakes how do you get it out of the mounting position? jeff=bones1.

Can I just ask the regular iid users a bit about this process. I am currently replacing my rear discs and the epb needs a good clean and lubrication. I have the iid, and have read the manual.
Page 150 does indeed tel me that the tool can set the epb to Mounting position, or Relatch. It does not give much information on exactly what to do, other than the fact that the ignition should be on, with the engine off, and the epb not applied.
There are simply 2 buttons on my phone screen, Relatch or Mounting. When I select Mounting, there is no confirmation or noise or anything to confirm that it has actually done anything. Is this right?

Gareth I believe the IID mounting position is the same as manually selecting the "service mode" as per bodsy's bible.
Although I always use "service mode" I have never noticed any obvious actuation when this is selected. However, my understanding is it relieves any tension on the cables to assist with the disassembly and refitting of the disc's and shoes.
