Mobile alloy wheel repair - would you accept this?

I certainly am not. Just wondering what experience others have had with mobile repairs?

I've complained to Car Care Plan (insurance sold by the LR dealer) but they haven't got back to me yet. You can see where the guy has ground off the damage, leaving a dent in the circumference of the rim. The paintwork is pitted and running. Not good in my opinion but maybe I'm expecting too much of a mobile repair?

Trying to add photos......

It was a company called DWV. Bad reviews on Google.

Very amateurish job insist on a professional service that removes tyre and does the whole job properly

Funny thing is, when I pointed out the 'mistakes' to the repairer, he told me not to worry as they would disappear in one or two days Rolling with laughter

He didn't take the wheels off, let alone the tyres. Saw him out there with some black card shoved in between the alloy and the tyre, spray gun in one hand and a heat gun in the other. Laughing

I just let him get on with it. I wanted it to go wrong as I have a complaint in with LR about mis-selling of the insurance in the first place (long story but at the time of sale I specifically said I didn't want any old mobile company doing the repair. I was told I could use a repairer of my choice - turns out I can't).

£250 well spent Rolling Eyes

I wouldn’t accept it, it is not easy to respray the rim, you can get a decent face to the rim but the sides of the spokes are often rough to touch and hold the brake dust.
I’ve had two rims smart repaired in the past both poorly done, was actually cheaper to take it in and have it professionally refurbed.

Exactly what I want to do. Smile

I am trying to get my premium back then I can put it towards a professional powder coat. Have been quoted £400 for all four wheels.

Interesting this. My Jag wheels were insured through the same company as an addition to the Extended Warranty. Used to catch the wheels regularly as the tyres are just elastic bands. After they sent a wally who wanted to take the wheels away for a week and leave the car on stands I was always able to arrange my own repairer also mobile. He would take the wheels off and break the bead and do great work with perfect colour matches and no runs. Just sent the bill in and was reimbursed within a fortnight.
I would be telling the insurers that you will be doing the same, dobt if they will argue especially after those pics.
