Oil Dilution??
Can somebody clarify to me what the oil dilution problem is with the current D5 engine sdv6 that they are now fitting.
Is it actually oil dilution or just the software thinking there is a problem and so telling you that an oil change is due.
All very confused.
Cheers all

There's a lot there, and I said I simply didn't know enough to help - interesting read though.
I doubt I'll buy another new diesel car.

Seems the issue maybe better now that LR have gone back to the same engine as the D4 3.0l Twin Turbo. The first year or so of D5s had the 3.0l Single Turbo (Same engine, different turbo setup) which seems to have the oil dilution issues.
Ive no direct experience, just what I've read.

I asked the very same question on the disco5 forum, all seems positive, so much so I’ve took the leap and ordered one👍

Thanks for the replies.
Reading between the lines, the issue is hopefully resolved for the 306hp engine.
Fingers crossed.
Am considering taking the plunge, or waiting to see if the 2020 model gets a new infotainment system.
As I said to the wife - I would be good to have a '69' reg.

If it does change then best to order now!! It has taken 2 years to sort this one out.

And it’s still 💩
My Velar is going to the dealers for an update, S18d I think, to try and resolve Bluetooth issues brought on by 18b.
There is a place reserved in hell for the person that developed that infotainment system.
My D5 SE had the poverty spec system and it worked perfectly, this pro system is just terrible and LR can’t get on top of the issues.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

So has the rest of my fellow Velar colleagues.
Edinburgh east £100
Edinburgh west £243 reduced to £200
Rest of the world free
It seems they are pleasing themselves as regards to pricing.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Not on the D5 as far as I’m aware.
My Velar doesn’t suffer it but the DS and Evoque does.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green
