Help - Dealer recommendations please
My Disco 4 is approaching its Yr3 Servive & MOT.
Back in the Defender days I used to travel to Hillendale, Nelson and received great service.
However they have been consumed by Farnells and it just isn’t what it used to be.
Having had several first hand issues with various Farnell dealerships I must conclude IMHO they are just box shifters and not invested in the technology or mechanical engineering to maintain these vehicles competently.
I was thinking of travelling to either Ribblesdale in Settle or Lloyd’s in Ripon. Has anyone had any experience with either?
I want a decent size dealer who know what they are doing and has some clout if there are any warranty claims with Landrover.

Depends where in Yorkshire you are. I used to use Ripon when they were owned by Ripon Farm Services, but now I use JAS LandRover Services just east of York. Joe’s a top bloke and really knows his stuff.D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT
D4 MY13 HSE Lux - RLD/IID BT
P38 RR - Sad parting
110 - Even sadder parting
S3 88" - Still going strong after 23 years of ownership

Thanks for the replies.
Unfortunately, I am likely to stay with the dealers as I am going to extend the warranty with LR.
There must be dealer that has good standards and invests in the service side of the biz surely.

Beware the drawbacks of taking the LR extended warranty (which is not actually with LR).
Plenty of information on this forum about warranty experiences and preferences.

I just went with Warranty Direct, they split it up now so you can buy what you want, and they cover crankshafts.......Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Go with Warranty Direct and use JAS it will save you a lot of money and hassle with poor service from the dealers Land Rover approves warranty don’t cover crankshafts.

Ripon Landrover (now Lloyds) looked after my D4 for 6 and a half years. I always found them very good and claiming on the extended warranty was seamless.
I've not had any reason to take the D5 to them yet except to buy the service plan but that's where it will be go in when something breaks. MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added
MY2019 D5 HSE 3.0 SDV6 - sold to a dealer for a crazy price! - So good I bought another!
MY2012 D4 HSE 3.0 SDV6 - retired to a new home
