Gaugeing intrest Group buy Blackvue camera
This is an initial post to gauge interest in a potential group buy for the Novus Blackvue cameras. I have run it past Martin and he is happy for the group buy to go ahead, but I want to see what interest there is first.
These units would be purchased from the company Wiggs got his from originally and are based in Canterbury Kent, I have no connection with them other than asking about a group buy.
They offer four options
1. Novus Blackvue with GPS @ £147
2. Novus Blackvue without GPS @ £122.52
3. Novus Eye Plus @ £179.76 (option for 2nd camera)
4. Novus Eye Plus Pack @ £228.92 (includes 2nd camera)
I currently do not know what the time scales would be for getting these items or if they have them in stock, that is why I want to gauge initial interest and then make further enquires.
These prices all include VAT at the new rate of 20% which I believe kicks in on the 1st Jan. They can be posted direct to each member at £6.60 and I would also be looking for a £3 donation to the forum with each camera purchased. They are not far from where I live and as such I could collect them and then they could be distributed via the courier network, this would be another saving but would take time to organise.
If there appears to be enough interest I will set up a proper post in the New Year where you can select which camera and quantity you want.
As I have said I have no connection with the company other than contacting them and asking about a group buy.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Cannot recommend the Blackvue high enough, cracking kit. Be mindful of the GPS version needs a little thought when fitting to a D3, the Windscreen is'nt a place to mount the antenna because the Heating elements disrupt the signal. I am unsure of the length of cable to the GPS unit, but if its anything like the Power lead you'll have plenty.

I'd like 4 x Option 1 please, I had an old lady pull across one of my vans 2 weeks ago, van was written off and driver off with with Compolash for at least 3 weeks, then the woman told her insurance company my van ran up the back of her car.
Luckily for me there was a witness who confirmed that my driver was not at fault whatsoever, but this got me thinking, if there was no witness and as it was on a B road it could have gone knock for knock.
GPS is a bonus as it shows the speed before the crash, I track all my vans anyway, but it only "pings" every 5 minutes, although it does have the ability to be manually "pinged", but this is the next level, and I bet there will be a reduction in insurance.
Thanks Russell

As mentioned earlier, I would like to know how people get on with the GPS version as I might upgrade eventually, but read that the GPS antenna signal is disrupted by Heated Screen Elements, which I took onboard cos my Snooper does'nt work correctly because of the same reason.
