2) Electric fan heater/heated blankets (see number 1)
3) eldfell wood stove

There's no fun unless your freezing cold wondering what you've done.
Should be around 4/5hr between the big stops if we are lucky. Going to try and avoid tolls if I can Silver MY10 D4

My experience is a lot of campsites close over winter, do a rough route plan on google maps, then search for campsites, remember that google is very optimistic with journey times and won’t take in the slower speeds that towing involvesDiscovery 3 HSE 07

I too have a 2.5 yo. What’s the plan to keep them occupied on the longer stretches? I would love to do some touring by SWMBO is not keen on it with the young ones. We also have a 6month old too but to be honest she is easier than the toddler at the mo.
Was thinking of making it more of a summer thing because of the younger one.
Anyway keep this thread going with the adventure. Very interested to hear about the experience.Dorian Woolger

Most are surprisingly open albeit not so much to tents in the areas we are staying, some don't take log burning stoves either, and some don't have electricity hookup, but hopefully we'll be sorted. Awaiting the last confirmations of some sites.
Dorian, I've loaded up a galaxy tablet full of games for him, 123 numbers, abc, colouring in, shapes, languages etc. All interactive to HOPEFULLY keep him occupied and also a set of earphones. Failing this working, it'll mean the missus using her phone as hotspot and him watching the wealth of toddler crap on youtube!
I'll let you know how it is but its looking rather cold in a lot of places (most are subzero) as it is winter and you definitely are right there, the younger they are the easier it is to travel with them!
Cheers Bodsy! Hoping for an uneventful trip, but you never know! Silver MY10 D4

Here's the pics!
Total of 2800 miles there abouts.. between 8/900 in fuel!
Had issue of TC judder entering Germany which made itself fairly obvious on some of the ascents, including rev fluctuation on the motorways, but the cars now done near 170,000, had gearbox megaflush at 130k along with an Alive remap. So its just one of those things..
Added some Dr Tranny yesterday to hopefully get me to Icefest next week and then upto JAS landrover on Monday 21st for a shiny new TC!
Anyway! Enjoy!
