Possible electrical problem
I did a research and didn't get much results.
Something strange happened, on the highway ramp while accelerating, I got multiple error messages : "stability control disabled" "braking assist disabled" "suspension lowered for safety". And the infotainment system rebooted, clock an date were reset. All with an audible thump. Stopped the truck, restarted, everything went away.
Seems like an electrical issue to me, with all those systems going out at once. Battery is brand new, replaced it last Sunday.

I’d be double checking the battery connections.

Thanks for your reply. I will double-check battery connections
I re-read my original post and noticed I didn't properly described what happened. It was more as if the truck shut off and then restarted immediately. All lights in the dash came on just like a normal start up, except I was driving at 80 km/h. I didn't notice if the engine shut off. Some error messages popped up, as described previously.

I just checked battery connections, everything is tight, at least on the battery.
I will have to investigate this issue quite further than I expected. So what would cause a complete reboot of the whole electrical system while driving? I assume the error messages were simply a result of the systems not being able to perform their start up checks because the truck was moving.
Can an alternator failure, causing a power surge, would cause a shut down? Or if the battery monitoring system was not properly reset?
I also found that a bad instrument cluster might cause similar symptoms, but I found only one instance of that issue on a Disco 3. Which seems a little far fetched.
Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks.

Electrical Failure
Realise this is an older post but the closeest I could find to my issue on the forum.
Basically, pulled up to put fuel in this morning, all fine, filled up, jumped back in and hit the start button. For a brief moment (less than a second) everything lit up as normal but then nothing, complete death, not even the key fob would lock or unlock the doors.
Sat and pondered for a moment, and decided best thing I could do in the circumstances was a reboot so disconnected +ve battery for a minute, reconnected and everything sprang to life again. Carried on my merry way.
Very odd and wondering if anyone has any idea what would cause a complete electrical failure like that?
Would help if you filled in youre profile so we know what car model we are talking about.

Oops, sorry, just joined but will get on it now.
Vehicle is an early (2009) Disco 4 with 125,000 miles on it. 3.0 TDV6 HSE, have had it about 18 months. It did have a earth fault earlier this year that took the garage a while to fault find and fix but other than that have only had little niggles with it (e.g. had to replace boot actuator) and generally been a good little work horse.

That fault sounds like symptoms of an earth fault. Worth checking how they fixed it, just in case.Gary

check the notorious chassis to body braided earth cable which is prone to disintegrating
behind wheel liner on drivers side

Thanks for the replies - particularly grzesiul, will check the cable you suggest, if the braid is going it could be starting to randomly short I guess

Why did JLR use a braided earth cable? Is there an alternative one could make up, that would be less prone to failure?I’m a Disco 4 believer. What a vehicle!

if its really bad use one of those https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192288371536?var=492222724629 - 30 cm (morethan enough)to bypass rotting section from chassis to body section
this way ist easier job to maintain earth without faffing too much about removing old cable as rearmost section is well protected from degradation
make sure to disconnect TPMS sensor just under the front driver light cluster before you ripp it off pulling lining out
here where the earth is :
taking liner out and bypassing it took me bout 40 min
