Hi Fellow D3 to D4 upgraders.
As you can see from the above I have recently acquired a D4 and wish to evolve into a proud owner/operator of said D4, however I have noticed the following issues:
1. All close/open operation failed on front passenger window – fixable via D4 forum
2. Damaged speaker face on rear right door card – To be sourced from web.
3. Damage to lower boot carpet covering - To be sourced from web (or Dave in Kent
4. Battery on remote key dead/dying - Help needed….
5. The Show Stopper – No heat coming from the vents after 30 mins of driving and engine at working temperature. Help needed….

Cheers Kajtzu, I cant find any reference to the heater matrix and where it is? Have you seen any details of its location please? Huggs.

I’m afraid I can’t help you diagnose the matrix part better but a friend had that as the root cause for no hot air. I guess it could also be the thermostat which at least is easier to look at and a component that tends to fail at least on D3s - I’m assuming the D4 would be similar in this regard.

A heater matrix is like a radiator so only leak.
Do you get air flow? If you do I would then look if the selection of the hot air is working correctly

Most modern cars flow hot water through their heater matrix all the time, so if the pipes in and out of the cabin are both hot, that side of it is okay and you will have to check what Stumog says above.
D2s used to suffer from blend motor problems all the time, not sure on the D3/4?

All air flow vents are passing air but only cool air. Engine temp normal, cabin setting at HI, still no warmth... Need it fixed sooner as winter comes along... Huggs.

Slight improvement but still not standard heat coming from any vent. Could it be a blockage in the matrix or a pipe? Huggs.

Do you have a Gap IID to reset the blend motors?
Have you checked the cabin filter isn't blocked? L633 Defender

The air is coming out fine but no heat to speak of... I have back flushed the system and run a cleaning produce through with no effect. Changed the filter in the glove box, no change. What is my next step? Huggs.

Silly question, but have you actually switched the fan on?- D4 is not automatic like the D3, well mine isn’t
Next move is to bleed air out of the system, there is a bleed valve on top front of the engine It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

You could try disconnecting the heater and filling it with something like sink unblocker, see if that clears it.

Yep cranked it up to the max. The air flow isn't the issue, It the heat. There no/very little heat coming out of the vents. I will try some auto rad flush as to domestic plumbing version... Any other Gurus out there with gems of advice? Huggs.

Heater Update,
The pipes work was connected to the wrong outlets on the Webasto. I removed it and gave it a clean up as it was there...
I made a loop with plastic 3/4inch male - male connector and now i have heat. One the winter feeling has gone and we have some sunshine I will get the webasto refitted and see how it goes. Huggs.
