Thank you š
Needs a wash really badly at the moment!
Been thinking about the next jobs on my list this morning;
New tyres all round
Buy an IID tool
Get a remap (BAS)
D4 heated steering wheel
Timing belts (May time)
Upgrade the nav/Bluetooth etc. somehow!
Wire up the reversing camera
Bigger front brakes
Or just stop blowing money on it and buy a D4.5! š¤£

Had an expensive couple of weeks with the Disco!
One of the rear brake calipers seized up whilst I was driving back from the Lake District and wore through what was left of the pads and then scored the disc! Quick trip my friendās garage for a pair of new rear calipers, discs and pads š¬
Then I thought I better get the tyres changed as they were getting pretty low and the car was driving a lot worse for it! Trip to the tyre place first thing today and 4 new Scorpionās fitted, drives much better now!
Really want to get it remapped but itās cost me too much this month to justify the extra expense just now!
Cheeky comparison shot of when I bought it and how it looks now;

Looks great, don't fall of the pavement though!Just 'cause you got the power... that don't mean you got the right.

Iāve decided to facelift this again to D4.5 bits, got everything I needed from a very helpful fellow forum member on here, Landyash......he even chucked the front lights and grill in for me whilst I drank a cup of tea and loaded the rest of parts in the car! šš»
Just need to work out to get the DRLās working and have the main beam flashable without having to have the sidelights/dipped beam being on!
Front bumper and new wing mirrors should be getting colour coded soon all being well and Iāve just ordered some resistors for the black rear lights.
Does anyone know where I can get the side repeater blanks/badges from other than the main dealers?
Cheers

You've certainly been a busy man since taking ownership.
You really have transformed your D3, looks superb.
Great work.
Btw, if your after some gloss black 'discovery' lettering for the bonnet, I've got D4 & D5 letters listed in my sig strip below....... always on the road less travelled š§
< ātis but a mere scratch ā¦ā¦.. itāll polish out.

Try Powerful UK. They have a lot of the D3/D4 upgrade stuff on their website.2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey (UK)
2008 D3 HSE Izmir Blue- South African Spec. (Zimbabwe)
2005 FFRR SC V8- Java Black
1995 D1 300 Tdi Blue - (Sourced from the UK, shipped to Namibia, driven by me to RD Congo, then Zambia, now retired in Zimbabwe)

Cheers ronp, Iāve already got a new badge for the bonnet.
CongoBoy, Iāve looked on their site but they donāt seem to do them annoyingly. Looks like Iāll be trying to get them from the dealers!
Fitted the later black rears today;
Thinking about doing something drastic to change the look of the car, decisions decisions.....

Finished the D4.5 makeover today (my friend did all the work!) bar changing the wheels.
Decided to temporarily wrap the new bumper and wing mirrors until I can afford to wrap the whole car in a different colour.
The colour match is pretty good to be honest and youād be hard pressed to tell itās not paint unless you look really closely!
I do now have one or two annoying problems that need sorting however!
The wing mirrors no longer dip in reverse, they wonāt powerfold and the indicator lights on the dash are flashing too fast (fine outside)!!! š¬š¤¬
Apart from that Iām pleased with how itās looking.....

Add resistors to the rear lights and thatāll fix the too fast flash on the dash.

Thatās not the problem, Iāve already added them to the rear lights and they were working fine until the mirrors went on today

Very smart! Are there LEDs in the mirrors? If so they might need resistors too as the car thinks the bulb is blown.

Have you checked your wiring as you must have rewired the door connector for the bigger black connector? If you have it may be an earth issue as Iām sure those features have a common earth running through the door module. You may also find the heated mirror function wonāt work either. In fact, thinking about it, if you fitted the mirror glass and they are heated, check the connections are correct as I fitted one mirrors connections back to front and both mirrors wouldnāt powerfold unless I double locked it.
