Cheers it was a follow up to the Modified Comp from last year. Some errors in txt but the essence is there & they got some things in that I considered important/needed mentioning, they also missed out some stuff but I guess you can’t have it all.
A fun afternoon on a cold Northumberland day, hoping to get some of the pics from the shoot. Paul.

I havent bought LRO for many a year, but was given a copy the other day, not sure what date but had a D5 on the front.
It was a terrible read and after a quick speed read, it go lobbed on the tearoom shelf, where unsurprisingly it still sat days later, good mags/reads normally dissappear within hours, so obviously the other guys had the same thought as me!
I feel its a very tired format.

I’ve read LRO and LRM every now and then on my iPad.
Both seem to mostly cater to a crowd which loves Series, older RR, Defenders and D2. There tends to be a small amount (one usually) of D3/4 specific articles every now and then. They’ve got inaccuracies, too, like a few numbers ago they (can’t remember which magazine) wrote that the D3 has a BMW 4.4 liter engine..... well, it does not.

Both mags have a format which IMHO is a bit tired & we know full well the target audience (clearly seen throughout & with ‘kit’ reviews) there has of late been a couple of decent D3/4 write ups.
Regardless of it being mine it’s nice to see another bit of coverage for something that we all consider a decent practical model from LR. It’s nice to show the Luddites that there is a world beyond the ‘Defner.
I don’t considermine to be the best/most modified/radical example out there (there are many belonging to members here that have had far more done to them) but I do feel it’s a good example of what can be done, a lot of the inspiration for the mods i’ve made (to make it a vehicle that fulfills my needs/requirements) has come from people & vehicles on here - something I was keen to mention & get in print. Paul.

Actually managed to read the article at last (it was delivered to my old house). I was with Paul a few days before the article when he was preparing it and had a good look round.
I thought the article was thin. I know what Paul is like going into detail and I know the vehicle. Frankly I think the article was poor overall.
Not the vehicle. The article.
My father wrote for LRO many years ago and as others have said it is not the publication it once was. After I don’t know how many years I have cancelled my subscription. I don’t know how many more I will get but I don’t feel I am going to miss anything. D3 07 SE - still going strong
D3 07 HSE - gone to car heaven
FL1 - gone to Romania
D3 05 HSE - gone to a divorce diet
D1 V8 manual - gone but not forgotten
RR Classic - gone to car heaven
Jeeps, Lexus, X-trails... Too many to name..
