Retrofitting face lift drl and dimming with indicators done
Well I have finally got around to connecting my 2015 facelift headlights up propperly (have had them on a while but the drl have not been totally factory look )
So now when I indicate the drl on the same side as indicator dims just like
It does when the headlights are turned on and comes back to full brightness after 2 seconds of cancelled indicator and just how it does on a factory 2015 one
Cost me £5.81 a side to doDisco 3 gone but not forGotten

No resistor wouldn’t work as the indicators are flashing
A time delay relay that stays on after the signal line is removed for 2 seconds so allows enough time to stay energised while the flashing is taking place

Cheers James,
this was the info I was looking for for my thread here
Do you just dim them or turn then off when indicators on

It dimms them just like factory option does
There is two feeds going to each light 1 dim and 1 high
When drl are on without the lights power is going to the lights on both the high and low Input
All this does is the same as the car does when lights go on and cuts the power to the high input thus leaving the low feed connected so is dimmDisco 3 gone but not forGotten

Do you think this would work on a D3 with 2014 Facelift?

Yea should do
Basicly if it’s wired correctly and there is power
Going to pin 1 and pin 14 on the headlight when on a d3 would be when side lights are on
on d4 has a drl controller built in so comes on with ignition and dimms when sidelights are turned on
all this relay does is cuts power to pin 14 ( main drl)when indicators are on thus leaving power to only pin 1 (side light) which is dimmer
Could do this to the lights as well on a d3 instead of connecting indicator connect main driving lights to it and when you switch u lights on it would dim the drl like it should do
And use a second one to do the same with the indicatorsDisco 3 gone but not forGotten

Next thing we need detailing the relay mod to get the light to flash when main beam off too
I will do a few
Drawings when I get a mo there is a drawing on here somewhere someone done but it isn’t correct
As
When I tried it once you flash the high beam the high beam just stayed on
The way I done mine it works perfect
I used some 5 pin fused relays from amazon as needs a permeated live as well as high beam live
And easiest way for that was from battery that’s why I brought fuses relaysDisco 3 gone but not forGotten

I would love to do this to my D4. Do you have any drawings? I’m not very experienced with electronics. Is this something I could still do?

I've done this on mine using an off the shelf kit, I can send you the link to it if it helps?
