D5 is here
My new D5 is here and I have to say it’s great
Very different to the d4 which is a different animal, I haven’t got rid of the d4 yet (if anyone wants it let me know!) and it’s made it feel a like having a defender and disco
The boot is definitely smaller, it does feel lighter, can’t decide if it’s quicker or more punchy but it’s doing 10 more mpg straight away and the tech is awesome.
Yes the is still bad, but you don’t look at it when in it!
So far great (although I did laugh when someone at work from the front said they thought it was a velar)Mike

Nothing not to like with that.
I’ve got the black wheels, kids call it the Batmobile.
Especially for Del.

Definitely one of the things I miss about my old RRS. The original AAC was a bit clunky at times but still "a good thing".
Enjoy the new vehicle. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Thanks
It should/does have adaptive speed limit or similar wording so it detects the speed limit from the sign and automatically sets the speed limit control, with that and lane keep its almost like it drives itself.
It is really nice, very different to the d4 and 98% in a good way in fairness to it.
Certainly feels lighter as a unit...ar se is bulbous...its lights are bloody bright
Oh and RSE without the TV is a little funny - considering it has rear climate etcMike
Does it feel smaller inside? I sat in one at the dealers, and it felt more claustrophobic than a d4, but I'm not sure if that was linked to a darker head lining.... but it felt it was smaller, esp in the third row.

Thanks - those wheels are ace, except i hate them at the same time...being 22's and therefore just asking for damage (just like a rr i had with that size on). they look good though
Mines got the full black pack so the black headlining - the defender had similar black headlining and that does naturally bring everything in.
However, directly answering - the car is both bigger and smaller!
Row 1 and 2 seems to be more spacious and its definitely wider...ive not had the third row out - but the boot is smaller and there is a little less storage space - it feels your even more in the car rather than on it too - probably doesnt helpMike

Took it out towing last night - i have to say im impressed, it did tow well. A little more noisy at times on the hitch but great. I love the electric towbar and noise weight measure and the fact that all the infotainment issues with the D4 (like not detecting the trailer had been disconnected and leaving sensors off) have been fixed.
I also was impressed it displayed all the towing speeds rather than normal speeds - thats a nice touch, just wished i had surround cameras on this one (and the TV).
Some small arguments with adaptive cruise and a couple of odd feature quirks (like he touch climate control is only accessible through a hard button unlike the range rover) but its actually great.
