Engine 'hunting' on light throttle

Morning all. Bit of a difficult one to describe but, on light throttle, it's as if the engine is hunting until speed/revs are increased.

It happens when slowing down for a roundabout or slowing down when turning into a junction. It's not the good old hesitation that we all seem to experience - this is different. Almost like the engine isn't receiving sufficient fuel until the revs are picked up. If I'm a bit more aggressive on the throttle it doesn't happen, but then you get a jerk as it kicks down and I prefer to be a smooth driver 8)

Has anybody experienced this before?

As always, thanking you in anticipation.

Fuel Filter?

Or has it been serviced recently?

Do you always fill up at the same place? could it be contaminated/ crap fuel?

Cheers for the advice. It did have a service at a very good indy garage in July but it didn't include a fuel filter change this time round.

I normally use V-Power diesel from Shell but the SWMBO tends to run the tank low until the warning light comes on (and beyond) so maybe there is some crud in the filter....

I would start with changing the fuel filter..
maybe run your tank low, fill up with decent fuel, then change the filter..

To be honest, I always run my tank down to super low and have never had a problem with 'crud in the bottom of the tank'.

if you change the filter, fresh fuel, a really good blast on the motorway, then go from there..

Thumbs Up

New oem filter won’t do any harm if it hasn’t already had one recently, have the injector live values checked at tick over, highly likely you have a faulty injector or two Big Cry

Now that sounds expensive........ Rolling Eyes

Would this flag as a fault code as the car had the symptoms before the service and the indy said there were no errors present?

Had a bit of a play tonight and it doesn’t do it from standing still, only when in a higher gear and the revs are low, almost like it’s not in the correct gear. Odd behaviour. Got to love them Razz

Can’t tell what gear mine is in, when revs are low it changes down automatically I think, it’s so smooth I just don’t feel anything, it sounds more like a gb problem to me, maybe resetting the gb adaptations might help.
