But miles done / fuel in is accurate, you’d add 10% to that number to guesstimate what the trip comp would show.

I hit 30mpg on the dash driving from Cornwall to Hogwarts (Harry Potter Studios) with Me, Wife, Granny, 2 kids and a car full of stuff doing 65-70 constant on Motorways.
Thought that was quite good. I lose about 3MPG average if I fit my roof-rack though Disco 3: Lotus Elise S1: Ferguson T20: Audi A2

This is what I got on Thursday. Long haul Surrey to Lesmahagow, pretty heavily laden and usual cruising at 60mph on cc. And the previous one is showing on there, just W or Eindhoven to near home in Surrey, 246 miles. Both actual miles vs fuel in, none of yer lie-o-meter rubbish. Time to be afraid, very afraid.

There is a moral here somewhere - something about a "full english" brekkie gives better fuel economy Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector

Not that day, had coffee & cuppa porridge, that was all. Diet had started.
PS Interesting increase in mpg.

My trip to Scotland last weekend, 1182 miles and 42gallons of fuel. Worked out to be 29mpg, when most of the motorway was sat around 80-85. Trip computer showed 29.1 too

I can remember a conversation some time back where a travelling rep drove everywhere at a certian speed for max mpg and another guy replied that the miles he was doing per annum and the slow speed he was doing meant he was spending an extra week per year behind the wheel!
The ones who do 50/55 and mix it with the hgvs fascinate me as its a proepr dangerous place to be.

My onboard says 22.9. Road trip says 18.95 average. It wss showing 14mpg, but realised I cocked up, so reset it and started again 540miles ago. Average is 31p per mile. At the moment though, my average daily mileage is 4-6 miles, but then I will do a 40 mile round trip tonight.MY07 Freelander2 SE Santorini Black - Gone

So at 65mph I get an indicated 35mpg at 70 it's 33mpg and at 85mph it's 27.5
Mpg
So I worked out the differance in fuel use over 100 miles which is my normal run at the moment
So the difference is actual cost is less then £5 So not worth keeping steady.
