Towing with D3

I had to pick today and pick up a tractor today ( Ford 3600Q with cab - weight about 2.5 ton).

D3 towing a twin axle Ifor Williams trailer empty got 26.8MPG.....

Disco returned 20.6MPG on the return journey loaded.

the D3 towed it with no bother at all didnt need low to start or used high all the time!

motorway at 60/70MPH

Jorney was not for hire or reward! tractor for our own use!! lol so no tacho!!!LOL

I thought that was pretty good...D3 towed it like it wasnt on the back!

what do u think?

when I collected my d3 from the auction, popped him on our TRI-AXLE 18ft brian james being towed by our dt5 commercial (see ebay if you want it, the gold one with all the bits), no difference to when we're lugging a 2.3 ton cayenne or x5.

Collected my d3 from our stealer's workshop last thursday and this time put the td5 on the back and towed with the d3, bloody hell......had to keep looking at the speedo just incase I was over the limit....its flies.... Mr. Green Mr. Green

Did 360 motorway miles with my first d3 (without trailer) on £60 work of the jungle juice!!! Mr. Green

2800Kg boat and trailer twin axle. Bristol to Dartmouth avg according to computer 22mpg @ 60 on cruise, auto box. It tows no problem at all even telegraph hill still doing 50 by the top but do get a bit of a run and then floor it. Nothing but praise for the way the D3 tows and stops it.

Thank goodness for all these posts. I would have been wetting myself if anyone had said anything other than this. Got my D3 in November, did a little test tow around the by pass and now can't wait until April when we go for our first van holiday of he year. So looking forward to towing with the D3 that we've scrubbed the Hong Kong holiday. Add to this the fact that our favourite 5 van site on Anglesey has had electrics fitted and things just couldn't be better.
