Was dreading the drive from London to Perth yesterday, but the 463 miles took 7 hours door-to-door, with only one stop for wees, coffee and diesel. If only I could stop the kids fighting over which DVD to watch and stop the missus from using the passenger footwell as a dustbin... No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!

Had to drive a mere 200 miles round trip to my parents at the weekend, as mine is very close to service mileage, I thought it would be OK to take SWMBO's Zafira (she's covered only 4k in my 15k!).
So after filling it up(!) we all piled in & tootled off down the motorway......
Arrived 100 miles later, with aching back and a headache! It's uncomfortable and you have to concentrate that much harder when driving in an underpowered car, from a lower height that you're used to, in an uncomfortable seat!
Although we did about 35mpg, compared to 23 in the Disco...... Still, Next time I'll pay the extra fuel & make sure I get the service in earlier!

Actually my D3 activities in my D3 at the weekend involved my post-christmas run to the dump (a.k.a. Civic Amenity Site). I was amazed that I managed to squeeze in TWO double matteresses PLUS a huge number of boxes, bags of "stuff" and a carpet.... How did I get by before I had the d3.

Yup - in a similar vein my D3 performed the following duties over the last 2 weeks
Overlanding and game viewer
Dog Ambulance
Transporting 8 people to the airport
Furniture truck (while also towing huge trailer) for my brother in law
and me to work today

Did you have to "limbo" under the barrier?
I believe I can at our local one - not been, yet...
Andy 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

I used to use Access Mode for the allegedly 6'6 barrier at Wandsworth dump; the Perth facility is not so anal and just has gruff old men who tell vans and the like to GTF. No longer a D3 owner but still subscribed to multiple threads!
