Heavy duty cable to one of these. Has a fuse box on the back so everything is fused and switched separately. Can also be done for the passenger side panel
That's the plan with mine parts all dispatched according to Fleabay
Hopefully get started on it this weekend

Well all the bits have arrived, so plan is to start attacking it tomorrow.
After reading one of the threads from Wiggs I've opted to put an Inveter up behind the panel as well.
Just hope I can get the interior trim of without too much hassle any tips?

Looking at putting an Aux battery in my D3 to power fridge etc in back, having read umpteen threads I think I’ve got the list of required parts can someone confirm my list, or make any alternative suggestions.
Battery clamps I think these are the correct part numbers
Battery bracket LYJF500100
Bolt flanged H LXYG000051
Bolt battery C LXYG500061
Anything else that I may need, obviously cable and fuses etc
Trying to add a leisure battery to my D3, and looks like I need the 3 items above. Tried searching but no luck, anybodybany idea where I might find these?
Many thanks.

2 problems with putting all the sockets etc in the access panel, 1) panel is not very sturdy and pull out easily, 2) anything you plugin is now at 90 degrees to the trim so any gear in the back can knock or rip them out if it shifts.

I've seen people put outlets in the horizontal sections of trim above where those access panels go. More permanent, but more protected.

Last weekend I was away camping and I ended up with a flat battery on my D3. It was parked for 2 days without the engine being run but the doors were open/closed a lot as the weather was bad and we need to use it for shelter. Just the courtesy lights coming on/off would over a few hours would not flatten a 120AH battery. Something must have been "waking up" the electronics. Ignition was never turned on but something drained the battery.
Does opening/closing the doors "wake up" the electronics?
Its a fairly new battery and even when left unused for a week without touching the D3 it normally starts it OK.
I have been reading up on this forum about a 2nd battery and a split charge system but I am correct in thinking that with all these systems the courtesy lights, power sockets and electronics still come off the primary starter battery?
In the pictures on this forum of a split charge system the thick lead to the fuse box is still attached to the primary battery.
To get these to come off the 2nd battery would involve a lot of re-wiring?
