Il try that. They sent me a new tool but it’s exactly the same problem with the new tool. Feel like just sending it back and getting my money back.

Tried it with no different result.

Bit frustrating for a new device but being in software dev and iot myself i know how accidental it can be to have all things functional, (did i just say that? Laughing ) especially when you're not having control of all the parts. Bugs for the end user and endless correction cycles for the techies behind it.

They will fix it and it is bad timing with their holidays but i'm holding on.
sure the week after ios12 will be launched and everything starts all over Whistle

Now, are other users with earlier devices experiencing problems? that should rule out ios being the culprit?

I've had mine for nearly 5 years, never had any issue with the tool. I had the original one without bluetooth first and upgraded to the BT version probably 3 years ago.
I hope you guys can get this sorted with GAP, it is a fantastic tool and has saved me the money it costs many times over.

Update:

GAP contacted me back within a day regarding this problem. They are now aware of the multiple threads/cases on here and working on a solution. Thumbs Up

This means they are aware something is wrong where the BT communication of certain units is affected.

I would like to be very clear and very cautious how i word this.
I have no information how the solution will look like (update, recall, other ??) nor do i know what causes the problem (ios, hardware, software) and how many affected units there are.

I'm sure GAP will communicate the necessary information in short time.

Report your bug through their channels if you suspect your unit to be faulty.

GAP went out of their way to help me with my "holidays on hold" situation and it looks we'll be departing on monday. Thank you very much for this, that is not 1st class customer service it is better than that. Bow down

Just had an email from gap saying they have worked out what the fault was and have an update for the tool. Will do the update tomorrow but hopefully it’s all good now.

Just a small recap on this one. The issue effected only a few units which have a new hardware modification. The fix is simply to update the tool to Build 2624 or higher.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Cheers
