No just the weight of the ladder a touch too much for the old struts.==================================

You can get new ones from SGS Engineering. While I don’t have a ladder the new ones push up the trunk pretty fast even in really cold weather. Someone with a ladder (maybe on FB...?) asked SGS to add a bit more gas into theirs and was quite happy with the result.

The SGS struts have NitroLabs (or something similar) printed on them, I get from my friends every time. Told them the D3 isn’t participating in the fast and the furious...

What sort of spare wheel carrier have you got and where did you get it from.
Front runner, got it second hand, they are about a grand new.
Did you have to turn off your rear parking sensors with this fitted? The Raptor one says that "you lose the use of your rear parking sensors".D3 Offroad Prepped - Gone to Kenya

Allegedly a rubber pad like a puncture repair one will fool it, but as mine were playing up and I have managed 30 odd years of driving without them I pulled the fuse.==================================
