Insurance Question (Resolved) |
|
Hi All
Just wanted to get your thoughts, I had a bump a couple of months ago, within this years insurance now they have sent me a renewed insurance document saying my insurance has gone up and i need to pay an extra £200.
I expected a rise on my next insurance but not within this 12 months
Is this correct?
Has this happened to anyone else? D1 200TDI 3 Door (Most expensive Land Rover ever as it got me hooked)
D1 300TDI 5 door

I would have thought that a breach of contract ( unless its in the small print) if you paid in full for a years cover....at renewall yes I could see that but not mid term?

Is the extra as a result of a something which came to light following the accident, such as an undisclosed conviction or previous claim?
Have you not had a letter with the bill?

Did this accident occur after you had received the lower renewal quote but before the actual renewal date?

Thanks all for the responses, APlan not with you maybe next year!
OK so mystery resolved, it was all down to a SP60 from last year which was discovered following my bump, I found this out following a call with the insurance company, but the plot thickens and may split opinion.
As was unhappy with this Im sure anyone would be, I asked why it had not been added when they quoted at renewal i was told it was my fault for not informing them, I said i was sure i had so they went off to listen to the recorded calls (3 in total), got a call back today to say I had not told them on the calls that I had a SP60 so the charge would stand
Now I am sure i would not of lied so I asked if they had specifically asked me at renewal if i had acquired any speeding fines to which the answer was no ,
If i have answered all the questions they asked truthfully and they had quoted me on these answers then why should i be charged an increase?
Anyway long story short the charge was wavered, so it was worth having the call and not just accepting the charge which they were going to direct debit from my account but that's a different story D1 200TDI 3 Door (Most expensive Land Rover ever as it got me hooked)
