Hi
I've just had a shocking quote to replace my hand brake module, £1020 I expect the quote is fair but I'm a tight and want to take the module apart and have a go replacing the cogs in the motor first.
Do I need a diagnostic tool to do this and what diagnostic tool is best for an ameture mechanic like myself.
Looking for value for money so if anybody is selling a second hand one I'd be interested.
Disco 3 59plate in Bournemouth, but always traveling the UK.

I ended up buying the IID tool, just the cost of LR diagnostics easily make up the purchase price.Plus it sorts out the rest of the car. Comes with a latch and unlatch programme for the Handbrake module and a service mode. Not sure what is wrong withy your Hbrake. Most faults are because it is jammed on for want of shoes adjusting. Site sponsor Duckworth has them. Good Luck

Thanks for the replies, I have been in contact with Duckworths, and hopefully they will have some in stock the next week or so.
