Steering Rack Rod Ends Torque
Does anyone know the correct tightening procedure for the tie rod inner to steering rack joint?
This is the end of the tie rod that goes into the steering rack: not the end that goes into the tie rod end i.e. "ball joint". See photo
I can't seem to find a torque setting anywhere. Nor can I find a requirement for loctite.
I've just installed mine, and tightened to around what I would normally do an M12 nut (its difficult to measure the torque as you need to tighten the joint with either an open end wrench or a pipe wrench). I also used some loctite 243 (medium strength).
Hoping someone can help.
