Exmoor/Devon/Somerset Dartmoor now added |
|
Anyone looking to do a bit of greenlaning next weekend(28-29/7)? Looking to do a bit of amateur greenlaning to take my little boy out for the weekend, possibly set camp up somewhere too?

morning,
saw this and thought i had better post a response,
in regards to the greenlane side Exmoor has no BOATs/Somerset has no BOATs all local trails were reclassified as RUPPs pain as i used to ride them all as a kid. locals following the hunt still use them however.
Theres a few greenlanes around Keynsham for a local explore.
Wales/ gloucester-Cotswolds/Wiltshire-Salisbury are more rich in lanes.
you can however make a nice weekend visitng the fords ( website is wetroads.)
Moors look amazing on Exmoor and theres pleanty of camping around minehead/porlock if you like remote look at doone valley make sure you visit tar steps as well.
Devon has some interesting lanes around North Devon-Brayford area but not many in number
the last time i was down that way it wasnt really suitable to a novice and i needed waffle boards to clear the washouts (may of been fixed).
Dartmoor allows wild camping and has some lanes if your prepared to travel slightly further.
i would of joined you shown you around however i am up at Kelmarsh show next weekend with my daughter. if you want trip another time bear me in mind

I know the area around keynsham and bath well. I would be happy to show you around once my landcruiser is back on the road.
For a weekend though I would say the Ridgeway this time of year. So easy to spend days that way.
Happy to point you in the right direction.
