Discoveries no Brasil - maybe moving to São Paolo |
|
Hi everybody,
just a general question?
- Can you import a D3 into Brazil.. I was told no. If this is really impossible can i import my Disco 1 which is 23 years old in 2 years?
- Are there many around in São Paolo province
I have been offered a job by a Land Rover garage there but obviously I am going through the personal pro's and con's.
Any feedback from Brazilian members or work nomads welcome. Fixing LR problems very far from Solihull.
That's why my newest car is a 1999 Disco 2 V8 with 285.000 miles
The problem is the missing documentation, not the LR

While I have no experience importing a car to Brazil... but having imported electronics (and not for resale, just company use) the customs process is a. Difficult, b. Lengthy, c. Expensive, d. Involved a bunch of agencies. Locals suggested the use of a “fixer” but that isn’t an option since it involves things without receipts.....
All in all the electronics ended up being > 2x their value in Europe with all tariffs and fees slapped on.
You probably might want to ask Google, too, as you can’t have been the only person to ever attempt or think of it.
Protectionism is what it is all about in Brazil.
