[For Sale] D3 2005 Low Tax: fixerupper |
|
After a LOT of deliberation i have decided to sell my Disco 3 (We have another D3 and a D4 in the family so we will not go without!)
OVERVIEW
FIRSTLY It IS RUNNING
but needs some time to get it on the road. It does drive. It does NOT have an engine Issue!
It is a Cairns Blue 2005 - So LOW TAX band
Its a 6 speed Manual (Personally I LOVE them)
There are only 2 PREVIOUS owners - Both Forum Members
I have owned it for over 3 years, and up until now, have thrown every thing at it that it needed or wanted.
first Owner Registered it 25.5.05 (Wessex Land Rover) HK05BOU (Owner was from Havant)
Sold it 25.3.14. to second owner in Kenilworth.
I bought it 25.2.15
It has FULL service History inc LR main dealer.
FYI- the Engine was always flushed with Forte and Forte Injector conditioner was also used!
I have a STACK of documentation.. from day 1.
It has only failed me twice... once was a burst coolant top hose, the second was broken prop
THE GOOD
Economical @ 30+mpg
Steering Wheel controls
Heated Seats front and rear
Full LR fitted Tow bar (detachable) + twin Electrics
It starts first time, every time.
Engine sounds good and pulls well
VERY good chassis as it was treated by the previous owners and has not seen much salt on the roads!.
Check out the past MOTs and you can see what little it has needed.. and its all been done
Tyres all Good
I have done about 13k Miles in the last 3 years
Hi/Low ratios work well
Just fitted a AMK air suspension pump and new relay
Rear parking Sensors
v5 in my name
2 keys
In the LAST 12 Months it has had:
New Prop Shaft
New Front Lower wishbones
New Timkin front Bearing
FULL 4 wheel alignment carried out about 1800 miles ago @ Ladybank Tyres
Replaced Inner drive Shafts + new gaitors, Track Rod Ends
It has also recently had
Fully Serviced (by me)
New Brakes and Disks all round + sensors
Radio Sorted after it locked in Phone Mode?
Timing Belt, Tensioners etc.. Changed 35k miles ago
Clutch, Flywheel and slave changed 50k Miles ago
EGRs blanked (Bell)
replaced brake pipes + Fluid
New Denso Alternator (Disco Mikey)
The Not So Good
It has three main issues that need sorting... these could be Cheap and easy .. and you might b lucky.. Or you might need some parts..
1. EPB needs sorting .. it was working. It has had new shoes but that did not fix the issue
2. There is a 'Exhaust fault' with the air compressor - I suspect the wiring at the front loom where it goes through the bulkhead..
3. I lost my power steering fluid. It might be a joint, a pipe or a pump.. I have not investigated
Needs an MOT
FYI, and in view of the new MOT rules, It has a good DPF and has NOT been de-cated!
the only dash warning light showing id the suspension light
It has high miles @ 256k but has impeccable history and records and is VERY SOLID
There are no other big issues with it.. but in terms of total disclosure...
The bodywork is good an as you would expect for the age (except for a rust bubble on the back tailgate). It does have some scruffs and scrapes.. But its a Land Rover.. and its 13 years old..
The ashtray front broke (I was going to install a 12v Double USB charger plate here but have not got around to it)
The Driver LR OEM mat is worn, all the others are good.
The alloys are a bit scruffed
the Driver seat is a bit worn (but you can easily replace the foam if you want to). There are no rips or tears in the seats. (Grey Cloth)
The gear stick gaitor is scruffy.
I will post some pictures today. Inc the underside.
Everything was spot on and working until I got bogged down in my field in December... then the relay caused the suspension to fail.. and I lost my PAS fluid and my handbrake! It was NOT a good day.
With TOO MANY other vehicle and BIG home projects needing attention something has to give as I'm not very popular as I'm spending all my time in the workshop!
IMHO its too good to break for spares... so I would rather sell as a complete vehicle...
IT WILL ALSO COME WITH A MATCHING IID ... So you can read/clear and reprogramme to your hearts content without running up diagnostic costs at the garage!!
I live in Fife. You are very welcome to come and see it.
As there is NO MOT and no power steering you might struggle to move it without
Looking for £2800 inc the GAP iid
I would prefer to sell as a project as there is not much needing done to get it back on the road... However I may consider breaking IF there is demand.
PLEASE DO NOT clog up the thread with offers on parts or to buy the iid... IF I decide to break I will CLEARLY re-list as D3 BREAKING 1 TR6 Rusting away quietly
