Stronger suspension for D3 S |
|
Dear all,
I'm looking for a "stronger" suspension (F&R) for my D3 WITHOUT AIR SUSPENSION.
I don't want to lower or raise my D3, I only want it to be a bit "stiffer" when loaded and less "wobbly" when cornering.
In rare cases I'm driving soft off-road.
In 2019, we plan to make a tour in Scotland and I (my wife... ) want to be able to take enough luggage in the car. So I suspect quite an extra load to carry around.
(I intend also to install a drawer set in the rear).
So, who can indicate to me what is available on the market (shocks, springs,...). I've contacted already some of the known LR D3 parts specialists in UK but they couldn't help me (...because it's a D3 w/o Air Susp.... ).
At this moment the standard Dunlop shocks are mounted with standard springs.
Looking forward to a solution !

Here in Oz, we have companies called "Pedders" who are suspension specialists so I would think that if you googled "suspension specialist" in your country you would find someone who could give you the correct information

as 'air free' D3's are relatively rare there probably won't be a lot non-standard available.... Pete

Thanks guy's,
@ Globetrotter448 : here in Belgium the highest hummock is slightly higher than a molehill 8)
And as every driveable road is covered in concrete or asphalt, the 4x4 suspension specialist are here as exceptional as fish in the desert
@ 200TDi : I've found something from Dobinsons @ 4wdworld.com.au. It's a set of springs & shocks especially for the "airless" DIII
I just hope that they have some kind of a dealer in Europe or ...that they are willing to ship to Belgiƫ
I'll keep you informed when something moves ! 8)
