Hi Johnny

I was getting intermittent "Normal Height Only" warnings. I have just replaced the dryer filter/desiccant/cap as described here and so far no more of those messages (although a little too early to declare it fully fixed yet)

Cheers
Mark

Oh and just to add, you'll probably save yourself a load of money on diagnosis in the long run by getting an IIDTool so you can see exactly what the car thinks is wrong for any given fault

I got mine from here : https://www.island-4x4.co.uk/integrated-in...27303.html

Not cheap but a brilliant bit of kit which has already paid for itself

Good luck
Mark

I see you are saying the ride height is good but have you measured it on flat ground from centre of wheel hubs to top of arch and compared the dimensions at standard ride height
Metal auto sump & fluid change (3 hrs)
LR door puddle projectors (10 mins)
Tinted Bonnet wind deflector (10 mins)
All Intercooler pipes and Tbolts (2hrs)
3 injectors replaced so far (30mins)
Sunroof drain pipes both sides 2.5 hrs)
Rear discs, shoes, pads, callipers, flexi hoses, rigid brake line, n/s upper hub carrier bush and rear n/s upper arm (13hrs over 2 days)

Thanks both - will see what the dealer makes of it all - in particular the cap
No I haven't personally checked the ride heights as had left this to the LR specialist - all I can see is that the car 'levels' itself on my sloping (in two directions drive) as far as it can, then when used and parked on level ground it looks to have same clearance on wheel arches both when it is 'Ok' and when it says 'Normal Height Only"
When it is ok I can select Access or Off Road height with no problem - car raises and lowers the same as it did when it was brand new - when it goes to Normal Height though the selector is also disabled.
Just a frustrating gremlin that on top of the engine failure is a cost I could do without - maybe I should invest in a diagnostic reader !

By the way Spierlane followed your links re the replacement job - very impressive !
Must be honest and say as a mechanic I make a great sales manager - think this is one that I will leave to the experts as I reckon I could make things worse !
Really appreciate the ideas though as its possible the LR specialist may not think of this one

suspension fault

disco 3 would show suspension warning and lower suspension.
temporary fix, turn off ignition, wait a few moments restart, vehicle resets itself,
no pattern to problem.
it was solved by independent land rover garage.
a reset of front wheel alignment sensor done on diagnostics, when the wheels were in the straight ahead position, the system was detecting the front wheels were not in the straight ahead position.
This created a conflict in the electronics, so after a while the system declares a fault, and lowers the suspension.
reset wheel alignment, so actual wheel position and sensor reading the same, never had the fault, warning again.
