Exhaust rattle
Ive noticed recently that the disco has a exhaust related high frequency rattle that comes and goes on tickover that comes and goes dependant on revs
I thought it was one of the heatshield bits on the exhaust but been under the car today and i now think one of the baffle plates is loose in the rear silencer section any one had similar ?MY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car

Never seen a rattly cat on a D4
Centre baffles break and rattle, and the rear silencers break at the welds though My D3 Build Thread

got under it last night and it definitely is a resonation in the rear silencer/ cat section
a few tweaks to the supports / rubbers seems to have helped a lot although think i am only dealing with the effect not the cause
will get my indy to have a look when in for its annual service in novemeber but at least the worst of the noise seems to have abated at least for the time being will update post service.
being just out of warranty i would have had to risk £150 for the main dealer for a looksee so decided that it would be a wear and tare argument that i cant guarantee winningMY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car

My rear silencer also had the rattly baffles. Made a racket but only at idle. My local indy crawled under and slightly bent an exhaust bracket or two and the rattle has gone. Might only be a temp fix but it's quieter than it ever has been. If it rattles again, I think I'll give the silencer a meaningful tap with a soft faced hammer - just enough to squeeze the baffles slightly and stop them rattling. Seems a cheaper fix than £100s for a new one.D1 300Tdi - gone
