Many moons ago I used to buy all the land rover mags, then one day my wife said to me surely theres only so much they can do to the cars? then LRO ran an article on caravans, not towing them but an in depth look at the vans themselves, now maybe Im wromg here but I would assume there are specialist caravan mags on the shelf, thats when the lightbulb went off and I have never bought one since.

I'd be happy with a D3 if travelling as part of a group somewhere reasonably safe, but if alone and in "gonna die if we run out of water or going to get my head cut off with a pearing knife if we're still here when it's dark" kinda territory then there's no chance i'd take one!!

To be honest, if you are travelling in the sort of environment where any catastrophy puts you at risk of death then it would be foolish to travel alone - regardless of the vehicle.

There are specialist caravan magazines on the shelf. Not sure that should stop LRO, for example, carrying out a review if it fits the needs of the time.D3 07 SE - still going strong

I've got the D4 for everyday driving and trips away but every so often I like to get the Defender out and enjoy the roar of the V8

Yes but you have to amdit they are quite often right, even though I hate to admit it
Iirc it was 3 or 4 pages and not just a quick review, basically I think they had run out of material, after all it is the same month after month!

Ah yes but on the defender its mainly chassis and the bulkhead all pretty easy to fix and no inner body panels involved.
You can of course spot rust on a defender sooner as you are under it so oftem

I'm with Hairy Dan - that 50th is just lovely. Can't beat a V8 90 for smiles per gallon and if the sun is shining.........
