Sometimes i am so thick....

Hello friends. Sometimes I am so thick.

Yesterday had a friend over who has a 98 Range Rover and thinking of buying a new Disco 3. Took mine for a drive and while he was giving it the once, he pulled out the rear cup holders.

I was stunned!!!

I didn't know they were there at the bottom of the centre console.

I mean.. I've only had the car for 12 months to the day yesterday.

Fancy not seeing them. Just can't believe it. And to think I've always moaned about not having them in the back.

I wonder what other things lay hidden and awaiting discovery in the Discovery?

SIII Lightweight - neglected & rusting. Bulkhead, A panels, vent panel & outriggers now disintegrated - Next years project!

A mate of mine (a farmer) has a D3 and he told that his front and rear fog light s didn't work. I switched them on and they worked. He didn't realise that you had to pull the switch out. Likewise the heated rear seats - didn't see the switches.

BW. Never take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

When you fold the middle seat’s back rests down, you pull the little tag under the seat and the whole seat moves forward and down so as to have a flat load space.


Also I have read in the forum that if you pull the hand brake “On” at speed, it intelligently uses the rear disc brakes and reduces the speed to under 30 km/hr before activating the “in wheel” park brake proper.

When towing a trailer the braking is re configured to put a heavier braking emphasis on the rear wheels so as to safely stop/control the vehicle as opposed to the normal Front wheel (70/30) braking bias. Trust me, what could go wrong?

The UK Manual (Thanks Simon Very Happy !) says less than 3km/h (2MPH) for dynamic application of the EPB. Too much intellectual firepower can damage your common sense.

Although common use is not recommended, the EPB can be used as an emergency brake..and applied at any speed Wink It will bring you to a stop faster than a stopping thing ! I have done it in a RRSport Supercharged at around 130mph on the Gaydon test track ....and boy does it work Very Happy 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
